About the Presenters
Michael J. Wastag, O.Carm., was with the Center for Spirituality and Justice for almost a decade and has been at Carmel Retreat for over a dozen years. Fr. Michael received an M.Div. Degree from Washington Theological Union in Washington, DC and also holds a Masters degree in Mathematics. He served as the editor of two Carmelite periodicals, The Carmelite Review and The Sword, and has edited two manuscripts, Master of the Sacred Page and Mother, Behold Your Son. Fr. Michael also served as the Director of Carmel Retreat in Mahwah, NJ and the Executive Secretary for the Carmelite Institute in Washington, DC.
Kathleen A. Geelan has been active in the ministry of spiritual direction for 25 years serving as director, supervisor and trainer in several programs. She is experienced in offering directed retreats using the Spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius. Kathleen offers workshops and programs integrating psychology and spirituality. She has been a psychiatric nurse and hospital chaplain. She is married, the mother of 4 and grandmother of 6.
Deacon Pat Quagliana is ordained for the Archdiocese of Newark where he serves on the pastoral staff at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Roseland, NJ since 2002. He received his master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry with a concentration in spirituality from Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University where he was honored with the Pope John Paul II Medal for Academic Excellence. He holds a master’s degree in Christian Spirituality and a certificate in Spiritual Direction both from Creighton University. Deacon Pat is an adjunct professor at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University and is on the faculty for the Institute for Priestly Formation held at Creighton University. He is involved in the formation of seminarians and is a spiritual director offering monthly direction and silent retreats specializing in Ignatian spirituality.

Guest Presenter
Miriam Cleary, osu, is the founder of the Center for Spirituality and Justice. She has conducted training programs for spiritual directors in the Caribbean, Africa, South America, Asia and New Zealand and has facilitated groups in India and Ireland. Sr. Miriam has a private practice in spiritual direction and is experienced in giving directed and guided retreats. She is a member of the United States Eastern Province of Ursulines and holds Masters degrees in Spiritual Direction, in Pastoral Counseling and in Mathematics.
